London Olympics 2012: Ending With a Great Feast Tonight

Last day of London Olympics and the excitement is on the peak for the closing ceremony.

After 15 days of excitement finally the day comes to end the enthusiasm with a good hope. Today 15 gold medals will be distributed in 10 different sports.

The statistics of Olympic score card show that the top in medal achievement is Americans; with 44 gold medals, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals. The total numbers of medals achieved by US are 102.

The USA defeated France in women’s basketball team, the US team won by 86-50 in its fifth straight match and won gold medal on Saturday.

Usain Bolt, a Jamaican is most dominating athlete in London Olympics, who was considered to be the fastest man ever in London games. He is currently holding a record in both 100m and 200m.

Chinese are on second position by achieving 38 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 22 bronze medals; England is at third position with 28 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 19 bronze. Number fourth and fifth position is holding by Russians and Koreans respectively.

The weather is sunny for today’s games and it is expected that all the coming event will commence without any climatic problem.

The sports events that are being finalized today include mostly men events of  Marathon, basketball, Cross-country cycling, Handball, Volleyball,  Water Polo, Wrestling (66kg and 96kg Freestyle) and boxing event consist of  Men’s Fly (52kg), Men’s Light (60kg), Men’s Welter (69kg), Men’s Light Heavy (81kg), Men’s Super Heavy (+91kg). And two of the women events which will be conducted today are Gymnastics-Rhythmic Group AII round and Women’s Modern Pentathlon.
