The US women basketball team beat France 86-50 to triumph its fifth Olympic gold medal. It’s the American 41st back to back victory by an average of 34 points.
The US women basketball player Taurasi, Sue Bird, Candace Parker and Tamika Catchings made the U.S the most favorite team in women basketball. The US Coach Geno Auriemma appreciated his team to continue the row of victories.

The Coach is optimistic about his team performance and hope better future for his team. He said he will try and take good step to promote his team that they should continue their victorious path.
Parker scored 21 points and 11 rebounds, Bird added 11 points and assisted three and Taurasi had nine points and six assists.
France played well at the start of the game when at the 12th minute of the game Parker over took them, she got eight points. This gave US 37-23 lead in that half.
The winning streak of US women basketball team started from a bronze medal in 1992. Only for the single time in 2006 Semifinal, they lost to Russia in major international competitions.

U.S. encounter with the only obstacle in London games, when they faced Australia. The team took a four-point lead before half time. It was the first time in 12 years that the Americans had been straggling at the half. After the half they just strengthened up their defense and beaten the Australians, winning by 13 points.
The Americans frustrated France’s point guard Celine Dumerc, who made only field goal in the first half and ended with eight points.
Dumerc said after receiving a Silver medal in London Olympics that she is happy to have a medal. And both the team played well and we lost to a good team. We made a good history for our nation in women basketball.
